(SHANGHAI, February 5, 2019) 鈥� We celebrated the grand opening of a new, larger Shanghai office on January 18. CEO , FAIA; Senior Principal , FAIA; Senior Principal , RIBA, LEED AP; and Senior Principal , FAIA, IIDA, joined China General Manager Lihong Qiu聽to open the new office location.

We established a Shanghai office in 2013. The larger 6,000-SF space at 1168 West Nanjing Road in the Jingan District accommodates the office鈥檚 18 design professionals, and enhances the firm鈥檚 ability to serve clients in China, as well as the interests of domestic clients with operations in Asia.

鈥淲e are committed to being a significant design voice in the Shanghai design community and across Asia,鈥� Davenport said. 鈥淲e are growing in Shanghai and attracting local talent with expertise and experience in our core markets. This beautiful new space will enable our Asia leadership to scale operations that deliver more sophisticated design for clients.鈥�

Our first school design recently opened in Shanghai. The Huili School聽is a unique campus in the Qiantan International Business District. The 85,000-SF school houses 1,080 students in grades 1 through 9. A second phase is under construction which will add a 61,000-SF school for 300 students in grades 10 through 12.

Construction also is underway on the聽Baoshan Long Beach Winder Tower聽and Concert Hall. Scheduled for completion in spring 2020, this 1.2 million-SF mixed-use tower will redevelop 6.9 acres of waterfront in Shanghai鈥檚 Baoshan district.
